“Do you think Jeff Davis will make Stydia canon now that Colton Haynes left Teen Wolf?”
My inbox is full of variations of this question so I decided to create a post to answer.
I think it’s understandable to have an initial reaction, where you worry about Stydia happening now that there’s no possibility for Jydia.
However, we need to calm down.
I trust in Jeff Davis. He’s an excellent script writer. All his decisions so far have been spot on for me. He writes everything for a reason and interlinks plots and ideas flawlessly. Teen Wolf is his baby, he loves this show, he cherishes his characters and he works really hard in each and every plotline.
I can’t see him making Stiles and Lydia getting romantically involved in Season 3 just because Colton decided to leave and Jeff can no longer add Jackson to the story.
If Jeff decides to make Stydia happen in S3, it will be because he had it planned out from the beginning. Not because Colton left.
I, personally, won’t like it if he decides to get them together. But I will at least know he had his reasons to do so, not just because a main actor left the show and he panicked.
So please fandom, stop worrying about this. The fact that Colton left the show doesn’t increase the chances of Stydia becoming canon. Jeff Davis is a professional and he knows what he is doing.

just imagine when Derek and Stiles are finally together; the first time Stiles tells Derek ‘I love you’ and Derek freaks out and Stiles doesn’t get why at first. JUST IMAGINE.
