How they probably scrambled for the humans first, dragging them to basement to get away from the smoke and fire that claimed the upper floors of the house, and then desperately began tearing at the metal bars of the basement windows.
Windows they knew wouldn’t budge because they’d been purposefully made not to budge, because the basement was were they locked the younger/newer wolves up when the full moon came and they couldn’t control themselves.
